Maxwell family papers, 1845-1944.

Correspondence, a land receipt, Civil War diaries, and a photograph concerning four generations of the Maxwell family. Papers of Edward Franklin Maxwell include a tax receipt (1845) for land in Jefferson County, Ind. Civil War letters and diaries are from John Anderson Maxwell. The papers of Rose Maxwell Dickey include letters to her from the Spanish-American War, from her nephew J. Maxwell Chamberlin during World War I, and World War II letters from a sailor and an airman. There is also a Civil War photograph of John Anderson Maxwell.
